2) Freight transport
Table 3.1-5 indicates the conditions of freight transport. The freight transport were on the increase, as a whole, until 1990 reflecting the economic conditions at the time although there were temporal decreases. However, freight volumes have continued to be flat for the last several years.
Table 3.1-6 indicates the breakdown of freights handled. The major transport items include petrochemical products, cement, agro-products, and containers. In particular, the transport of petrochemical products accounts for some 40 % of the entire transport items.
